I am a reader who dabbles in writing. So why am I blogging?
I am a reader, and this blog is about sharing the books I love, whether romance, historical fiction, chick lit, classic, contemporary fiction, or even an occasional children’s book. I do not read young adult or teen. What I will never read are thrillers (I even hid behind a pillow during JURASSIC PARK). This blog is a place to talk about current reads and many of the wonderful books I’ve read over the years. It is a place to share writing/blogging tips, to reblog noteworthy posts from other blogs, and sometimes I even include personal events. I invite your comments and recommendations and hope you will find this a place to return to often.
A bit about me…
After college, I entered the workforce but soon left that behind when my children were born. While raising my sons, I embarked on a fulfilling volunteer path for such groups as our local children’s hospital, church, neighborhood association, PTA, classroom volunteer, Kindervelt, military academy parents’ organization, and Make-a-Wish. Volunteering enabled me to develop lifelong leadership skills and establish an extensive professional and social network. Of course, I have always been a voracious reader, seeking out books that are both fulfilling and enjoyable.
I am married to my soul mate and have three amazing adult sons and two wonderful daughters-in-law. My grandchildren bring me the greatest joy imaginable.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you like what you found here and will return often.
Love and Hugs,
Michelle Clements James
Hello Michelle,
I’m an avid reader too. Usually I borrow a book from the library. If I love it – I’ll buy a copy for my home library – and read it a second time. Most books in my home library, I’ve read twice/thrice and some even four times. Have been doing this since the 1970s and have about a 1,000 books, give or take a hundred. My 3 adult children take after me and read extensively too. But unlike me, they buy new releases – which is a bonus for me 🙂
Thank you for visiting and leaving a comment on my blog – and also “following” my blog. I’ve done the same – following your blog.
Cheers for now,
Eric

Your comment on Sally’s website led me here. I’m impressed with your reading habit which has led to writing blog posts. The two are intertwined, as you know well. I post reviews on Riffle books, Goodreads, and Amazon. Often books I read turn into blog posts too.
Thank you, Michelle.

I love your blog, your about page, your zeal for others. Thank you so much for stopping by my blog and saying hi. We have many of the same friends, I notice. I’d love to get better acquainted. I read for fun, too. I do post other people’s reviews occasionally. That’s how I met Barb Taub and several others you have following you. I’d love to have you join our FB group, Networking Bloggers. It’s not a book group, per se, but I think you’d enjoy it.

Hi Michelle 🙂 Im wondering if you would be willing to assist me with a relatively straightforward question?? The company I am working with to acquire an agent, who puts together queries for me, has asked me to provide them with two comparison novels which I think share a similar readership as Dark Fey The Reviled. I could pick just any Fantasy book I suppose, but should like to provide something a bit more thought through. Unfortunately, since I do not read much at all (because Im always writing) I haven’t the first notion. Thats when I thought of you. Im wondering, with your WEALTH of books that you read, if you might have any suggestions? I don’t need a great deal of info, just the title and author and maybe a breif WHY?
I know everyone is busy and if you do not have time, I do ENTIRELY understand, but I felt compelled to ask 😉
Thank you, my Friend, Either way 🙂

Oh dear, I’m not sure I can help you with this. Dark Fey is the only book of it’s kind that I’ve read.
I did read a paranormal romance once. Frosted by Wendy Sparrow.
Kate Finley loved skating, until she fell through the ice. In the cold water, she is rescued by Jack Frost who takes her to his ice world. Kate is given the chance to go back to her world to say good-bye to family and friends, but escapes to Florida out of Jack’s reach, or is she?
I’m sorry I’m not of much help. It’s been a long time (before I even started blogging) that I read it.

Honestly, its ok, I just thought I’d check with you. regardless, Frosted sounds like a book I’d enjoy LOL 🙂 I’ll have to check it out 😉 Thanks my Friend! My niece did suggest the Hunger Games and/or Lord of The Rings, both of which I really liked so I may run with those. My sister recommended the Narnia Chronicles. So I’ve got some good ideas anyway 🙂
again, I do Thank You …I didn’t mean to put you on the spot, just tapping a VAST resource 🙂

Hello Michelle, is there any possibility I could interest you in reviewing Secrets Spies and Spotted Dogs by Jane Eales? I have met Jane through the adoption community in Australia. She has just been advised by Catherine Goulet, and Shelley Anderson, of http://www.IndieBooksAwards.com that it has been named the Winner in the Autobiography/Biography category of the 2015 Next Generation Indie Book Awards. You can imagine how thrilled she is! If you are tempted, I can put the two of you in direct contact and she will send you an electronic copy. Otherwise, please feel free to contact her directly at the below website, mentioning me (Gwen Wilson)

Hi,
1. We know some of the same people. I know Christy B, for example.
2. I’m with you. I don’t like roller coasters or books that are too scary. I like suspenseful books. I loved Ten Little Indians. Is that scary? I thought more suspenseful.
3. Thank you so much for following my blog. I got the notification today. I am truly flattered. I look forward to getting to know you better.

It is a privilege to meet you, Michelle! I’m also not a writer but I blog as a way to connect and communicate with others. I’m also very close to turning my social media hobby into part-time work. When I read, I read non-fiction…and lots of it. I’m also fond of classic and children’s literature, mainly because my children have brought beautiful books into my life. I feel comforted to find another reader who does not enjoy thrillers. I neither read nor write them. I simply don’t enjoy reading with a continuously beating heart and an unpleasant sense of anxiety. I do understand that for some people this is what they positively enjoy in a read.

For the same reason, I don’t like roller coasters either.
