Marsha Ingrao of Always Write posted a terrific review of An Insider’s Guide to Building a Successful Blog by Janice Wald. I had to get this one! As a blogger, I am always looking for ways to make my blog more visible. While you are over at Marsha’s blog, check out some of her other wonderful posts.

The big question is the sweetest what? 🙂 You know what yummy thing I tried yesterday at the Woodlake Botanical Garden was a strawberry guava! That may be my new favorite sweetest thing. 🙂

Strawberry guava? Now that sounds yummy!

It tasted like a strawberry with more sugar and no seeds! Delicious.

It definitely tasted like it, Michelle. What are you working on for your blog this week?

I’m working on a review, but am waiting for the author to send me some information.

WOW! Interesting, I rarely talk to the author when I review a book. What kinds of questions do you ask? I often wonder what difference if any my reviews make to the authors.

I ask for information – synopsis of the book, author photo, book cover photo, author bio and social media links, and any other information they’d like me to share. Sometimes I get it back right away, sometimes it takes a bit longer. I also let them know where, besides my blog, I will be posting my review. Conversely, if I can’t give their book at least a three out of five stars, I don’t review it and I tell them as gently as possible my reasons. I don’t like to post negative reviews because my review is just my opinion. A couple of authors have gone back and made revisions to their book.

I like that. Most people get three out of five from me. I only turned one away because it was racier than I wanted to recommend.

Do you have a review policy on your blog? It helps a lot. Also post a note in the sidebar about the type of books you are interested in reviewing. Check out mine to get an idea of what I do. https://michelleclementsjames.com/review-policy-and-rating-system/

Have you read the book, Cathy?

No, I haven’t. I’ve read some of the author’s blog posts though. I’m guessing the book expands on the posts.
