Authors and readers – support your local library.

Let’s start a movement!! If you write, donate your signed books to your local library and volunteer to read them. You get followers and future readers they get you in person.

If you have books donate them to small libraries that have so few and little money to buy more.

Get involved. Children that read get ahead. Ereaders are great but there is nothing like the adventure of going to a library and finding that perfect book. Take your kids get them a card. It is better for their minds and health.

Please reblog and share this post so we get the word out that libraries need our support. We don’t want to see a day when they are no longer there.

  1. I love libraries. If I get a book for review which I don’t want to keep after reading, I always donate it to my local library for that the author can benefit through Public Lending Rights. And I’m very excited about doing some events around the county libraries when my own debut novel published this summer.

    1. That is a great way to share books you’ve enjoyed. Our library here collects donated books for a huge city wide sale. All of the proceeds support new library bound books.

    1. Absolutely. I have wonderful memories of taking my kids to the library, and of course, going and getting books for me, as well.

        1. It is, but nothing replaces the pleasure of going to the library. There is this nostalgia that goes on in my head and in my heart when I walk into a library.

  3. Great post and point, Michelle. I’ve always supported our library and took the kids there when they were little. I still check out books for my reading pleasure. When I published my first poetry book three years ago, I almost did a reading but the timing turned out to not be good and I didn’t follow through. I’m nervous about public reading. Now with my second book out, I’ve thought about it but that’s as far as I’ve gotten. 🙂 Hugs!
